November 7th, Saturday – MacEwan Open House Rally: “EVERYONE OUT TO MACEWAN THIS SATURDAY‼️
Instead of hearing the students call for justice, MacEwan continues to double down on repressing the very people they’re meant to serve.
They take our tuition and use it to fund our people’s murder. And what’s left of it, they use it to hire more security to beat us.
Meanwhile, students and staff have REAL complaints and concerns on campus. Accessibility on campus is beyond lacking, affordability and housing continues to be an issue — THAT’S where our tuition should be directed.
MacEwan has had countless opportunities to do the right thing but has relentlessly chosen to be oppressive and corrupt.
On Saturday, MacEwan will attempt to enchant prospective students with lies and false promises. For WEEKS MacEwan has been promoting this Open House. But we’ll be there to expose the truth.
Prospective students deserve to be informed about MacEwan’s reality. While MacEwan tries to silence us, let’s come back even louder.”

November 20th to 22nd – Parkland Conference 30th Annual Fall Conference: From The Ground Up: “From the Ground Up: Community Action in the Face of Oligarchy
From Minneapolis to Budapest and across Alberta, people are banding together to defend democracy and build new institutions. These citizen-powered alternatives draw on longstanding traditions of community organizing to create something new: an emerging collective response to corporate oligarchy and right-wing autocracy. They’re built from the ground up by neighbours and friends to defend their rights, protect one another, and create local economic and democratic alternatives. The 2026 Parkland Conference examines those alternatives and highlights the people who are building them. If institutions are being attacked from above, we need to rebuild democracy from below.”
