October 3rd, Saturday – Ride for Gaza: Get ready for Saturday, October 3! Our next Palestine solidarity ride and fundraiser is starting and ending at Earth’s Refillery Coop at 1pm. All wheels are welcome 🚲🧑‍🦽🛹🛴🧑‍🦼
More details about the ride to come in the next week.
Since 2023, escalated Israeli violence has resulted in at least 75,000 known deaths (about 1 out of 33 people in Gaza). Palestinians in occupied Gaza are still confronting genocidal conditions imposed by Israel despite a declared ceasefire in October 2025. Essential and nutritious food items necessary for a balanced diet are often unavailable due to Israel blocking these items from entering Gaza – only 35% of aid trucks have been allowed into Gaza after the ceasefire.
We hope you will join our ride in support of an end to the genocide and occupation. We are raising funds for YEG4GAZA to support mutual aid work directly benefiting Palestinians in Edmonton with families in Gaza and Egypt.
Our ride is inspired by the Gaza Sunbirds who compete internationally in para-cycling events and provide direct mutual aid in Gaza to displaced families seeking emergency supplies. The Gaza Sunbirds have mobilized many grassroots, community groups to organize solidarity rides on their streets which call for the end of Israel’s occupation of Palestine.”
Time: 1-4pm

  1. A correction to the following listing is needed, this is indeed on Friday, but that is September 25th not the 26th:

September 26th, Friday – Bicycle Postcard Delivery to the Legislature: “With Minister Dreeshen’s continued attacks on bike lanes and municipal autonomy, we need you to take action now! Attend this special event, send emails, talk with your neighbours, family and friends – it all supports the movement.
We are fighting back against the upcoming legislation on multiple fronts, including preparing for a legal fight but we’ll need funds to put our best foot forward.”
    Time: 8am
Location: Alberta Legislature Building, north steps

This is also misprinted in the summary at the beginning of the post:

September 25th, Friday – Coffee Outside
*September 26th, Friday – Bicycle Postcard Delivery to the Legislature
September 25th, Friday – Critical Mass Ride: Remember Dr. Markland
September 25th, Friday – Relearning Palestine

    In solidarity,
    Ned

    1. To be clear, this special edition of Coffee Outside and the postcard delivery collected by Paths for People over this past month, can be treated as one in the same event. 🙂

  2. Thanks. I have updated things.

So, coffee outside, which normally starts at 7am will be at the legislature? I realize they have posted that at 8am they are delivering the postcards and to grab a coffee.

I think I was orginanlly using the information for Coffee Outside from an email from YegBike Coalition.

    1. I like the way Bike Edmonton listed the summary of events (particularly the schedule at the end). Essentially, normal Coffee Outside at 8am but at the special location, the Postcard Delivery press conference, then a Post-Event ride from 8:30am for those not already headed to work:

      This Friday!

Join us, along with cycling advocates from across the province, for a special edition of Coffee Outside at the Legislature.

We’ll be delivering thousands of messages to Minister Dreeshen and the UCP in support of safe streets and municipal autonomy.

      8am – Arrive and grab a coffee. ☕️
      8:15am – Press conference 📢
8:30-8:45am – Head to work or join us for post-event ride and breakfast stop

I don’t know if you can read it on the bottom of the Paths for People poster, but these are collaborator logos on the bottom, so I would assume any of these sources should be accurate:
Paths for People, Bike Edmonton, Let’s Ride There YEG, Bike Bus Alberta, Bikeology.ca, Yeg Bike Coalition, Bike Calgary

      1. I kind of wonder if there will be a contingent of Coffee Outside regulars going from Ezio Faraone Park at 7am to the Legislature for 8am? I don’t see any mention of it, but I bet that would help to keep everybody on track, lol.
