June 6th, Saturday – Women in Black Vigil for Non-Violence: Women in Black formed in 1988 and since then has expanded to 100,000 women worldwide. Women in Black Edmonton formed in 2003. Our silent vigils remind us of the power of nonviolence in a world where violence can destroy lives in our homes, streets, and regions. Please join us.
This is a bi-weekly event on the first and third Saturday of the month.

Join us for our Make Them Pay Town Hall, where we’re building the People Power to demand bold action on the climate and affordability crisis. June 17th, Wednesday – Human Trafficking Prevention & Disruption Training: “This Training offers free resources supporting the prevention and disruption of human trafficking so you can stop the spread of this human rights abuse in our province. ACT’s free educational programs are designed for individuals, allies, companies, and front-line responders. These sessions provide participants with the skills to accurately identify human trafficking and respond safely. Education saves lives. We’ve found a direct link between the number of education sessions and the increase in client referrals to our Pathways to Safety program. Be the first defense against human trafficking.”

June 26 – June 28th – Justice4Reel Film Festival 2026: “Justice4Reel is a three-day curated public film and arts festival in Edmonton.
Designed to bridge the gap between abstract human rights and our lived local realities in the heart of Alberta, this three-day journey fosters reflection, shared dialogue, and coordinated civic action.
By using documentary film as a catalyst, Justice4Reel moves beyond interpersonal perspectives to examine the structural challenges shaping our province. It serves as a civic laboratory where the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is transformed from a legal document into a tangible tool for community dignity and accountability.
