May 29th, Friday – Fight Back Now: Day of Protest: “The Smith government is exceeding its mandate on every front.”
At 11:15am gather in Centennial Plaza south of the downtown Stanley Milner Library 9924 101A Ave NW. At 11:30am, we’ll march to join 600 healthcare workers rallying east of the Edmonton Convention Centre. Rally will be over at 1:00 p.m.
Please wear yellow and consider bringing a sign and noisemaker.

May 30th, Saturday – Speaking with the City Training: Does it ever bother you how much sway lobbyists have in government? Has the prioritization of corpo interests, over our local ecosystem, ever made you feel unseen by city representatives? Well if you can’t beat em… come to CJE’s speaking with the city training!
This training is for any who have or who may currently feel disillusioned and helpless when it comes to the climate crisis. Join us in learning how to channel that energy into pushing for tangible change here, at the city level.
We’re going to go over ways you can engage with the city on issues related to the environment, climate resilience and the energy transition. This includes requesting and preparing for meetings with City Councillors, submitting written statements on specific Council and Committee items, and speaking at City Council Committees and Public Hearings. When addressing the city, you deserve to feel as steady in your voice as corporate funding is to lobbied interests. We want to uplift you to find such steadiness.
It’s actually crazy how much power we can have when we mobilize and we’d love for you to be alongside us as we actualize such proactive, protective, collective stewardship that our next generation of workers deserves; that our environment deserves; that our city and all who call it home, deserves. So join us May 30th, together we will curtail disempowerment through civic engagement. Lunch will be provided!

May 30th, Saturday – Great Ride of Return: “CALLING ALL WHEELS! 🚲🧑‍🦽🛹🛴🧑‍🦼
We ride again in solidarity with all of Palestine, especially those in Gaza who are still held under siege despite a so-called ceasefire.
7 months after the “ceasefire” agreement, Israel is continuing to kill Palestinians in Gaza, keep border crossings closed, and severely restrict access to survival basics like food and shelter.
Global attention has largely turned away from the ongoing genocide. On May 30, inspired by the @gazasunbirds call for solidarity rides to amplify the call for a free Palestine, Edmonton will ride together to call for sustained actions and mutual aid.
