Across the province, workers are fighting hard to have their labour valued. We think that deserves celebration.
Join Common Horizon Edmonton for an afternoon of homemade comfort food, connection, and commiseration.
We’ll talk about how union members can build real power together. If you’ve ever wished you could do more to influence your workplace, your union, or the direction of this province, this is your moment.
This gathering marks the launch of our new Union Member Working Group, designed to help you actually make change.

When I posted this on social media, someone responded by changing out women for men.
It is true.
But it uses the same reasoning as – “all lives matter”.
Until all beings are treated equitably, an injustice is being committed.
At the moment, this is not happening.

    Why have I unsubscribed?

I value your work; however, we’ve had SO many protests, some were the biggest in history of Alberta; we’ve emailed tens of thousands of emails protesting the corrupt, lying, cruel, UCP government bills..”NWC” like it was the “item of the day”!

Results = ZERO! FUTILE! Just more rights taken away!

Alberta is NOW the province of “living hell”.

I am divorcing myself from ALL emails because I need to save my “sanity”. I’m a very happy, loving, caring person; I found myself constantly in tears, trying to “help” all I can…then started losing my hair.

Thank you SO much for ALL your work…

  2. I can understand your position. I get crushed when my filtering falters.

Be well and thank you for your kind words.

  3. It is true that we have never seen such authoritarian audacity in Alberta. It’s been made clear out of Smith’s own mouth that this has escalated so much in 2025 because the UCP was emboldened by the “successes” of Donald Trump (and she is just as oblivious to the fallout). On the plus side, the strength of these attacks on the Alberta population is only increasing the strength of the response. Albertans have never come together like this before, but with what we’re dealing with we still have a long fight ahead of us. Please rest and know that more and more are moving into the front lines in solidarity. Those who were silent can’t remain so any longer. We are not fighting this alone, and you deserve a break.

  4. On the “Eat Your Feelings” event for December 13th, I noticed a missing piece of address, specifically the “avenue” part. I know this came straight from Common Horizon which has the same typo in the registration page, but the location reads: CO*LAB • 9641 102A NW

The correct address for CO*LAB (Community Arts Laboratory) should be 9641 102A Avenue NW, according to colabyeg.ca

I have to say that I am quite interested in hearing about this new “Union Member Working Group”, but already have prior commitments that night. 😦

Are there any protests coming up for the two tier health care bill being passed? Or, any for trans rights issues or for helping Palestine? I want to help, but I don’t know how. I do not financially have the means to assist, but I could come to protests or even host meetings or something to prepare protests? I have no idea how anything works but I own my home and can offer up my basement and find lots of chairs if needed.

I try and pull everything I can into the Activist Agenda so it is a good place to get information when it is available. I do miss some items though.
