May 8th, Thursday – Counter Protest: Alberta’s March for Life:

May 10th, Saturday – Stand for Safe Streets and Local Autonomy: “This Saturday morning (May 10th) we are going to do a quick 20 minute training (Rolling training sessions every twenty minutes from 9:30-12:00), and then get out into the community! Over the next two weeks, we are going to dispatch to spots around the city (farmers markets, festivals, patios.
Will you come and bring a friend?
If you RSVP, coffee and light breakfast will be provided! Streeters material will be provided. Bring a coffee mug and a plate/bowl to minimize dishes!”

May 10th, Saturday – Enough Is Enough UCP: rally with music, speakers, and you. We stand in solidarity against the path the UCP government is set upon travelling.

May 11th, Sunday – Mother’s Day for Palestine: Human Presence: All mothers want to protect their children. At the moment, mothers, children, husbands, etc are being slaughtered in Gaza. Our common humanity demands that we show up for compassion, respect, and community.

May 13th, Tuesday – Albertans Against Fascism: Food Not Bombs (FNB) is going to be hosting a protest at Conway Farrell Park on May 13th at 4:30 PM PM. The purpose of the protest is to draw attention to the dangerous, fascist policies of the UCP government and encourage people to participate in acting against the UCP in what ways they can. The protest will feature the MC teaching chants to the crowd as well as a series of speakers. Come out, bring your signs, and be loud!

May 13th, 14th, and 15th – 3 Days at the Ledge: “Each day has a different theme: May 13, we will be speaking about the province’s disastrous plans to defund and privatize healthcare and education; May 14, we will be speaking out on our concern about the province’s plan to expand coal mining and it’s devastating effects on the Eastern Slopes; and May 15 we will be speaking about transparency, inclusion and equality, representing marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ+,  disabled, and Indigenous communities.”

May 14th, Wednesday – Breaking Through the Chaos: Climate Action That Wins Now: “Federal action has never been the only tool in our shared climate action toolkit. Right now, we are not spinning our wheels, trying to guess the next moves of certain erratic leaders, or “waiting and seeing” until after the next election. Stand.earth is doubling down on strategies we know work – and a few new ideas that are already gaining traction.
Join Stand.earth Executive Director Todd Paglia, and Senior Campaigns Directors Liz McDowell and Shayda Edwards Naficy to hear why litigation, corporate campaigns, and local policy are the next big plays to fight climate change. May 20th, Tuesday – Film Screening: “The Encampments”: “Students flooded Columbia University’s lawn to create the Gaza Solidarity Encampment in order to pressure their university to divest from the US and Israeli weapons companies. THE ENCAMPMENTS follows the central organizers of the encampment as they are thrust into the spotlight, face violent police repression and suspension, congressional pressure, and a media firestorm, all while fighting to attain their goal of divestment at any cost.”

June 7th, Saturday – Good Note Spring Festival: “The Good Note Spring Festival Continues! This year’s family friendly festival will include a community potluck, workshops, vendors, and a variety show with diverse acts spanning music, art, and poetry and more!
​This year’s festival is also a fundraiser for our friends at Earth’s Refillery Co-op! The former store, Earth’s General Store, had to close their doors in September 2024 after over 30 years. Now they’re back, with a new name and vision for a cooperative cafe & refillery!”

June 14th, Satruday – No Kings: There are many American citizens and former American citizens living in Canada. They can host their own local No Kings rally/event wherever they now live.
PS – I also think that Canada should dump our monarch.
