Web Resources

Extinction Rebellion (XR) – they have amassed the largest amount of open source tools anywhere that I am aware of. Once you join you can take a lot of the training courses The Rebel Tool Kit is open to you regardless of joining.
They were the first group that I know of that effectively used “The Talk” to inform people about Climate Change. Here is the current video of their talk.
The Canadian website for Extinction Rebellion seems to be kind of dead. Hopefully, someone will pick it up and resurrect it since I think that XR is a useful tool to be advance the climate movement.

The Movement Hub – “Empowering activists to push for change has never been more important. This community of grassroots activists and other campaigning experts exists to share tools, training and inspiring stories for changemakers all over the world.”
Montreal Counter Information – great edgy information
350.org – has resources listed on its site. They have training courses you can access through their site as well as a library of great educational material.
Instructables– wow. This a simple guide to many solutions to challenges that everyday people face and also how to build things.
Ruckus – though this group doesn’t do their hands-on training any longer they have accumulated some good information in the Action Strategy Guide.
Handbook to Activism – a great how-to source. It is European focused but everything should be easily transferable.
Beautiful Trouble – lots of tools and resources. Very informative and inspiring and the site is nicely done.
The Conscious Citizens – “A directory, bi-weekly newsletter and online global community dedicated to building collective consciousness and community power.”

Maps and Such

When laying out a route you can do it on Google Maps. You can superimpose the route on the map, figure out the total distance, save it, and share it. Good tool.

When you are sharing a location that could be somewhat confusing it is good to drop a pin on a Google Map and share the pins location as the meeting point. Another excellent map tool for meeting up is called What Three Words. It allows you to show the point within a 3 metre square box (10 foot square).
