March 14th, Saturday – Rally for Justice: “Join us in calling for Chief Driechel’s resignation following his trip to “Israel.”
EPS, after its many crimes here at home, decided that the best way to learn is from genocidal war criminals.
Colonizers support colonizers.
WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS.
This normalization of an occupying power is harmful to Edmontonians and a blatant rejection of International Law.
Chief Driechel and the rest of EPS run rampant and are unafraid of accountability — because there is none.
We, the people, cannot stand by and allow this to be the case.
Prepare to be LOUD and stand together against this corrupt system.
DISCLAIMER 🚨: Due to the nature of this protest, there is a guarantee that EPS will be using surveillance (no doubt also learned from “Israel”). For this reason, if you choose to, we encourage you to mask.
This is not to scare you. You have the CHARTER RIGHT to protest a corrupt force. And in unity, there is a strength they fear!
Share this widely and bring your signs and your friends.
IF WE DON’T GET NO JUSTICE, THEN THEY DON’T GET NO PEACE.

March 15th, Sunday – International Day Against Police Brutality: We will screen a documentary “No Visible Trauma”.
“In the midst of a global uprising against police brutality and systemic racism, No Visible Trauma examines a deeply troubled police department and reveals the devastating consequences of unchecked police brutality. Despite its relatively low crime rates, recent years have seen the Calgary Police Service shoot and kill more people than officers in any other Canadian city, and more than either the New York or Chicago police departments in 2018. Five years in the making, the film unravels the intertwined stories of three individuals who were the victims of extreme violence at the hands of police officers. From the kidnapping and beating of a young immigrant from Ghana, to the fatal shooting of an unarmed man during a “wellness check”, the film exposes a criminal justice system that fails to hold police officers accountable for their actions.”
The format is that people are invited to attend these free screenings, which will start at 7.00pm.
After the screening, we will discuss what we watched, how it affected you, and what might you do with the information and emotions you gained about this subject. We intend to have people from our community who are intimately involved in this issue.
Time: 7pm (due to the clocks being set back one hour, we will start later than the previous screening). doors open at 6:30 pm
Location: Earth’s Refillery Coop and Cafe, 10831 – 95th Street

March 16th, Monday – National Day of Action for Public Healthcare: “The Alberta government’s Bill 11: The Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2025 (No. 2) opens the door to two-tier health care, and the powerful for-profit American health care insurance industry. This is unequivocally the biggest threat to our single-payer, universal Medicare system that we’ve ever seen. Not just for Albertans, but for all Canadians.
That’s why health coalitions across Canada are coordinating a Day of Action for Public Health Care on March 16, 2026, with in-person demonstrations held in communities from coast to coast!
Join Friends of Medicare in EDMONTON to say NO to two tier health care, and to call on the Federal Government and Edmonton Centre MP, the Hon. Eleanor Olszewski, to enforce the Canada Health Act and save public health care!”
Time: 12 noon
Location: MP Eleanor Olszewski, Edmonton Centre Constituency Office, 12220 Stony Plain Rd
Register: Friends of Medicare

March 18th, Wednesday – Creative Strategies to Resist Authoritarianism: “Authoritarianism is on the rise globally — AND so is our power to push back. Artists and cultural workers play a pivotal role in successful people-powered movements, shaping what’s possible through story, symbol, and song and moving/inspiring people to courageous action.
Built by and for cultural workers, this training offers insight and connection to meet this moment with strategy, courage, and creativity. Together, we’ll unpack how mass noncooperation can block authoritarian power, learn from global resistance efforts, and imagine how our craft can power collective action. We’ll also take a strategic look at key moments for U.S.-based movement-building in 2026—World Cup, Bicentennial, and Midterm Elections—and consider how artists and cultural organizers can most effectively align with movement priorities.
Whatever your creative medium or path, you’re part of a vital cultural frontline. Let’s grow our power, refuse compliance, and make culture that blocks, bridges and builds.
This training is co-hosted by Beautiful Trouble and US Dept of Arts and Culture. Please note that we are hoping to provide any needed language interpretation, but we may not be able to do so for all requested languages.”

“‘2040’ is an innovative feature documentary that looks to the future, but is vitally important now. Award-winning director Damon Gameau embarks on journey to explore what the future would look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them into the mainstream. March 27th, Friday – Fascism: What Is It & How to Fight It: “We’ll be hosting an event, “Fascism: What It Is and How to Fight It?”, at 5:45PM on Friday, March 27th at the Earth’s Refillery Coop on 95st.
It is very common to hear people call Trump and the MAGA movement “fascist.” It is true that he has brought out a variety of outwardly reactionary policies, but does this constitute “fascism” as liberals and the media often claim, or just the reality of capitalism in this age of chaos and crisis? Does it even matter whether we call Trump a fascist or not? And regardless of what we call him, how can we fight these policies and put and end to his and others’ regressive attacks?
If you’d like to get an answer to these questions and more, and/or have thoughts of your own, come out and meet us for this event! We hope to see you there!”
Time: 5.45pm

March 28th, Saturday – No Kings Solidarity Rally: “This rally is in solidarity with the people in the USA who are gathering in their millions to challenge Trump imperialism.
“No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings. In 2025, millions of Americans came together in nonviolent protest to oppose the growing authoritarian actions of the Trump administration. And on March 28th, we are coming together again bigger and louder than ever before.
Every time the Trump administration escalates its violent attacks on everyday people and tries to take our freedoms, the No Kings movement grows stronger. When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, we will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence now and in the streets on March 28″
Oh, and we will also highlight the Epstein files at the rally. “

March 31st, Tuesday – Thoughtful Tuesday Documentary Screening: Food, Inc 2: Thoughtful Tuesday is a free weekly series of screenings being held at Earth’s Refillery Coop and Cafe.
“The groundbreaking Oscar®-nominated documentary Food, Inc. ignited a cultural conversation about the multinational corporations that control our food system at enormous cost to our planet, workforce and health.
In the well-timed sequel, Food, Inc. 2, comes “back for seconds” to reveal how corporate consolidation has gone unchecked by our government, leaving us with a highly efficient yet shockingly vulnerable food system dedicated only towards increasing profits.”
