I like this breakdown and reasoning around the cult that is Donald Trump and the MAGA mindset. We see this happening in Canada and elsewhere.

March 3rd, Tuesday – Thoughtful Tuesday Documentary Screening: Push: “Landlords without faces, apartments without tenants, Push explores the new, unaffordable, unlivable city.
Thoughtful Tuesday is a free weekly series of screenings being held at Earth’s Refillery Coop.
The Push: The Film is being hosted in collaboration with ECOHH (Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness).
“With housing now such a lucrative financial investment, how do we push back and reclaim our homes?
In November of 2016, award-winning filmmaker Fredrik Gertten reached out to Global Director Leilani Farha, then UN Special Rapporteur on the right to housing, on Twitter to learn more about her work. Three years later, the feature-length documentary Push premiered globally in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Push follows Leilani as she investigates why cities around the world are becoming so unaffordable. Housing is a fundamental human right, a precondition to a safe and healthy life, and is recognized by law in many countries. But in cities all around the world, finding and keeping a place to live is becoming increasingly difficult. Who are the players, and what has made housing one of the defining crises of our time?”
The format is that people are invited to attend these free screenigns which will start at 6:30pm.
After the screening, we will discuss what we watched, how it affected you, and what might you do with the information and emotions you gained about this subject.”

This is a free workshop offered by Earth’s Refillery Coop & Cafe to empower people and save money.
If time allows, we will go into what things you can invest minimal dollars in and provide huge return in investment.
Bring your questions and we will try and help you figure out how to resolve the challenge.”

March 8th, Sunday International Women’s Day Dinner and Discussion: “We will enjoy a delicious catered meal, following appis and a cash bar. Reserve today! No one turned away for lack of funds.
International Women’s Day (IWD), March 8th, was established 115 years ago and celebrated around the world. IWD represents and celebrates the fight of women to eliminate all forms of discrimination, oppression and violence, and to decide all matters which affect our lives, including matters of war and peace.
We celebrate the central role which women have played in all the decisive struggles of the day. We celebrate all the women in Canada and the world who are fighting for their rights, their dignity, and a future where all human beings can thrive. We celebrate that the oligarchs and the governments which serve them have failed in their aim to crush the resistance movements everyone. Resistance rising!
Women have played a leading role this year in battles for their rights as workers, for health care and education, for housing and food security, and everything needed for women and all humans to live in dignity and security. Speakers from the different sectors of the economy and society will inform to us about their work, their difficulties and successes, and what they have learned in the course of their struggles as to what is needed to strengthen our resistance movement. We will hear from women fighting for their rights as workers, for the rights of migrant workers, refugees and international students, for Indigenous rights, for the rights of the Palestinian people, climate activists and more.
Around the world extreme violence is being used to try and bring to their knees all who are fighting for freedom, genuine democracy and peace and the right to follow their own independent course. State-organized attacks are taking place against the migrant workers, refugees and international students who came to Canada with promises of a bright future and are now being blamed for all the problems of society.
We stand with the women and people of Cuba, of Palestine, of Venezuela, Sudan, Lebanon, Iran, and all who are fighting the U.S. imperialist monster and say we are all one – one struggle, one humanity!
We look forward to hearing everyone’s views and sharing a delicious meal together! Hosted by Women for Rights and Empowerment. Our annual IWD banquet has become a treasured event where we inform each other, celebrate our resistance, strengthen our commitment to be there for each other, and affirm our claims as women to decide all matters which affect our lives”

March 18th, Wednesday – Creative Strategies to Resist Authoritarianism: “Authoritarianism is on the rise globally — AND so is our power to push back. Artists and cultural workers play a pivotal role in successful people-powered movements, shaping what’s possible through story, symbol, and song and moving/inspiring people to courageous action.
Built by and for cultural workers, this training offers insight and connection to meet this moment with strategy, courage, and creativity. Together, we’ll unpack how mass noncooperation can block authoritarian power, learn from global resistance efforts, and imagine how our craft can power collective action. We’ll also take a strategic look at key moments for U.S.-based movement-building in 2026—World Cup, Bicentennial, and Midterm Elections—and consider how artists and cultural organizers can most effectively align with movement priorities.
Whatever your creative medium or path, you’re part of a vital cultural frontline. Let’s grow our power, refuse compliance, and make culture that blocks, bridges and builds.
This training is co-hosted by Beautiful Trouble and US Dept of Arts and Culture. Please note that we are hoping to provide any needed language interpretation, but we may not be able to do so for all requested languages.”
