November 6th, Thursday – Sauerkraut Making Workshop – The Magic of Wild Fermentation: “Looking for an easy, low-cost way to boost gut health and reduce food waste? In this sauerkraut making demonstration, you’ll discover how fermentation transforms cabbage into a probiotic powerhouse. Learn the simplicity behind one of the world’s oldest preservation methods.”

Cost: 20$
Register/More Information: Operation Fruit Rescue

November 8th, Saturday – Alberta General Rally: It’s time to stand up for fairness, accountability, and the rights of all Albertans. The UCP’s abuse of the Notwithstanding Clause threatens the democratic protections we all rely on.
Join us and show that we won’t stay silent when government power is used to override our rights. Every voice matters.
Time: Noon
Location: Alberta Legislature Building (I assume the north steps), 10800 – 97th Avenue

Come and stand (and march) for peace and justice everywhere.
Time: 1:30 pm
Location: Wilbert McIntyre Park (Gazebo Park), 104th Street and 83rd Avenue

November 10th, Monday – Can We Talk?: “The polarizing “Us vs Them” thinking found in, and exacerbated by, social media bubbles is perhaps one of the greatest challenges of modern times. You are cordially invited to attend the first of our planned series of events
intended to address polarizing issues, foster greater openness, empathy, and informed public discourse.”
Time: 7 – 9.30 pm
Location: Ukrainian Centre, 11018 – 97th Street

November 11th, Tuesday – Peace Presence Remembrance Day 2025:
Time: 1pm
Location: Churchill Square

November 14th and 15th – The Palestine Tribunal on Canadian Responsibility: “The purpose of the event is to document how Canadian organizations enable the settler colonization and genocide of Palestinians, and to articulate what justice and reparations would require. The Tribunal is taking place from November 14-15 in Ottawa, and will also be live-streamed.”
Location Ottawa but also live streamed
Register: Palestine Tribunal on Canadian Responsibility

November 15th, Saturday – COP30 Global Day of Action: “Social and environmental movements from around the world today launched a call to action for a Global Day of Action on 15 November 2025, coinciding with the United Nations COP30 climate negotiations. As part of the Peoples’ Summit, thousands are expected to take to the streets of Belém, Brazil, demanding climate justice and system change.
The call urges movements, organisations and peoples everywhere to organise their own marches and actions locally in solidarity, uniting struggles across borders in the fight against inequality, environmental racism and corporate impunity.
“From the Amazon to the world, we are saying enough is enough. November 15th is not just about marching in Belém. It is about showing that people everywhere are rising together. The Global Day of Action will demonstrate that climate justice is inseparable from justice for peoples, territories and future generations.”
I am unsure if anyone is planning anything for Edmonton at this time.

November 15th, Saturday – Women in Black Vigil for Non-Violence: Women in Black formed in 1988 and since then has expanded to 100,000 women worldwide. Women in Black Edmonton formed in 2003. Our silent vigils remind us of the power of nonviolence in a world where violence can destroy lives in our homes, streets, and regions. Please join us.
This is a bi-weekly event on the first and third Saturday of the month Stand in solidarity!
Time: 11.30 to 12.30 pm
Location: Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market, 83rd Avenue and 103rd street

November 20th, Thursday – TRANS DAY OF REMEMBRANCE 2025: “Honoring lives, uplifting the future.
This year, we want our gathering to be more meaningful and to create a way forward to build safe and brave futures for trans people to live freely and protected without fear of being unlived, disowned, or violent. It’s evidence that the authoritative state is, and might use the notwithstanding clause to continue violating the rights of trans youth, just like the attack on the Alberta teachers’ freedom of expression.
Join us in remembrance and resistance. We gather to honor trans lives lost, grieve, uplift trans futures, and celebrate the power of community.”
Time: 5 – 7pm
Location: EVO, 11508 Jasper Avenue
Registration: Eventbrite

November 21st – 23rd – Democracry Under Siege (2025 Parkland Conference): “We are living through extraordinary times — times that would have seemed unthinkable just a few years ago. Around the world, autocracy is on the rise. The new U.S. regime threatens the sovereignty of these lands currently called Canada. Here at home, misinformation and corruption have taken hold in Alberta’s government. The pillars of liberal democracy are crumbling under the strain of growing authoritarianism.
This year’s Parkland Institute conference confronts these urgent threats head-on. We’ll take a hard look at the political institutions meant to act as guardrails against autocracy and ask how well they are faring in this role. More importantly, we’ll start a conversation about how we can strengthen those institutions, defend our struggling democracy, repel the current threat, and create a future that is built on the foundations of equality, justice, and solidarity.”
Location: University of Alberta
Tickets: Parkland Conference

November 22nd, Saturday – National Housing Day: Normally a ceremony is held at the Homelessness Memorial just north of city hall but with the utter failure by the provincial government on housing things are being planned for something more.

November 22nd, Saturday – Climate Open Mic Night: “Come to share space and build community in this collaborative event between Edmonton Youth for Climate and the Environmental and Conservation Student Association at the University of Alberta! November 25th – December 2nd – Blackout the System: “It’s not Left vs. Right – It’s Up vs. Down – Their strength is our spending!
Not this Black Friday and Cyber Monday!”
If you are going to buy things like food, coffee, etc buy from local independent businesses. Keep the money out of corporate hands and use cash.
Participate by not participating in the system they have manufactured. It is like a Buy Nothing Day.
