January 18th, Saturday – Dinner Fundraiser for the Arkangelo Family: “Join us for an evening of community, support, and solidarity at the Ukrainian Centre. This special event is dedicated to raising funds for the Arkangelo family to assist them during this difficult time following the loss of Mathios.
Enjoy a night filled with delicious food, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to standing together as a community. Your presence and contributions will provide much-needed support to Mathios’ family as they navigate this challenging journey.
Together, we can honour Mathios’ memory and show his loved ones that they are not alone.”

January 19th, Sunday – After Syria is Iran Next?: “Join us on January 19th for an online webinar with peace movement leaders Miguel Figueroa from the Canadian Peace Congress, Jad Kabbanji from the Mouvement Quebecois pour la Paix, and Reza Saniee. The speakers will expose the aggression of US, Zionist, Turkish, and Canadian imperialism in Syria and their plans for Iran, and how people in Canada can fight for peace.”

Janurary 25th, Saturday – Call for Respect Stand Up for Public Health Care: “United Nurses of Alberta (UNA) is encouraging UNA Locals across the province to participate in a Day of Action on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
UNA Locals are encouraged to work with their members and reach out to other unions at their workplaces to hold information pickets, rallies or winter themed events outside their worksites and in their communities to show their support for safe staffing, safe patient care, and public health care and call for respect for frontline health care workers.
The Day of Action is an opportunity for members to connect with each other and show solidarity on the anniversary of an important milestone in UNA’s history – the 1988 nurses’ strike.
