Video of the Week

This was recently created – it is a parody of what the fossil fuel companies are saying versus what they are delivering.
I believe they are lying for the sake of obscene profits.
What do you think?

July 11th to August 18th – Plan for Parks: “The Government of Alberta is gathering input to develop a new Plan for Parks to ensure their long-term sustainability.
Albertans take tremendous pride in our provincial parks and recreation areas. This new strategic plan for the provincial parks system will reflect input from Albertans.
The Government of Alberta remains focused on creating nature-based recreation and camping opportunities, building trails and facilities and ensuring the long-term success of the parks system in an environmentally responsible way.
In 1930, the Provincial Parks and Protected Areas Act was enacted, leading to the establishment of Alberta’s first provincial parks. Today, provincial parks and recreation areas are established and administered through the Provincial Parks Act.
By sharing your input, you will help shape how future generations interact with and enjoy Alberta’s parks.”

July 23rd, Tuesday – Leadnow’s Housing Campaign Launch: “We’re in a housing crisis. Decades of government inaction have left housing to the whims of wealthy and powerful investors and landlords, who have exploited market conditions to increase rents and drive speculation, leading to skyrocketing home and rental prices.
To challenge the status quo, it’s going to take thousands of us coming together to build the political power we need to push politicians for solutions that put people, not profits, first.
This summer, we will gather in cities and towns across the country to discuss the housing crisis, its root causes, and what solutions we can fight for together. We’ll discuss drivers of extreme rent increases and housing insecurity, and share our challenges and our hopes for the future.
Alongside our neighbours and community members, we’ll build a shared vision of housing justice and shape the strategy for a national campaign to force the federal government to take decisive action.”
Time: 5pm – 6pm
Location: Zoom

The PR teams of Big Oil and Big Grocery* are throwing the Billionaire Block Party party to celebrate. Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly evening of games, food, and corporate greed.”
